The Stong and Calumet Health & Wellness team is here to support you. This session will be facilitated by health and wellness coordinators. This week’s session will be focused on self-care and self-compassion. You will get a chance to familiarize yourself with various self-care strategies, engage in a hands-on self-compassion activity, and get tips on how to stay physically and mentally healthy during your university journey and much more.

NSTAMP & KAHSSO present to you the Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Series. This is where we will invite speakers to discuss various import matters intended to educate, inspire & empower you. We are so happy to announce our first conference date will be on Friday, October the 2nd, 2020 @4:00pm starring Latonya Biddy. Latonya is a York University alumni who works as a community and social service worker. Currently, Latonya serves as an activist with Socialist Fightback, a Marxist organization located in Toronto with chapters in universities and colleges all over Canada. In addition to public speaking appearances, Socialist Fightback also attend protests, solidarity actions, organize reading groups and publish a monthly paper with articles analyzing national and international politics and events through a Marxist lens.

We are hosting a welcome event where all Faculty of Health community members are welcome to participate in engaging activities, connect with their peers, and learn about various campus and college resources. All are welcome to ask questions and highlight their experiences starting the new term!

Take a break, decompress and partake in this self-care oriented workshop, while creating your very own personalized masterpiece! All you need is a pen/pencil and paper.
Black Students in Psychology is happy to announce that their virtual town hall will be held on October 8th from 4pm-6pm!
The purpose of this town hall is to facilitate a productive conversation with Black students about the need for Black professionals in the field of psychology. They would like to hear your concerns, questions and suggestions, as we facilitate the conversation around undergraduate and graduate student life.

The Indigenous Circle (IC) program at Calumet & Stong Colleges would like to extend a friendly invitation to all its self-identifying Indigenous and non-Indigenous students to participate in our Welcoming Tea session.
We will be sharing a virtual Tea inspired by the traditional Tea Dance (“Dahot s’ethe”) ceremony – Dene Tha’ Nation (Northwest Alberta).
In addition, we will have interactive activities and games to make this space a ‘stress-free’ zone. At the event, we will describe the meaning of the traditional tea ceremony, and provide opportunities for participants to connect.
Requirements: Participants will need to bring their favorite hot drink, pen/pencil, paper and their wonderful energy to participate in activities.
Being able to draw a realistic portrait is a fun skill to have that comes in handy when you want to impress someone! It’s also a great way to relax!
